In fact a person enslaved by emotions due to karma or to dualistic vision can, through improper behavior of body, voice and mind perform many bad deeds whose accumulated causes become a force capable of ‘threatening’ to interrupt or to hinder the path to liberation” (Chögyal Namkhai Norbu – The Precious Vase, p. 53). rtc-13=After several years in which Sangha App was a free environment for discussion and debate, the need has arisen to limit some behaviors that are hindering an exchange intended to support to our practice. We understood that it is necessary that we all take responsibility in moderating the discussion groups, and that we become more aware of what is non-virtuous, thus “harming directly or indirectly one’s own or another beings’ body voice and mind” (ibid., p. 54). We should all stay aware and present to avoid actions producing negativity. rtc-14=We believe that, in the context of online discussion, some of the negative actions might be translated as following: rtc-15=Moreover, in the context of today’s technological environments and data protection policies, we would like to remind you that we will also not accept: rtc-16=These mentions above are not exhaustive, as inappropriate behavior in the app is anything that in some way does not respect the principles of presence, awareness, collaboration, and goodwill. rtc-17=* Personal data is any data that can identify the person, such as name, surname, address, recognizable picture. Sensitive data is data regarding one person’s political, religious, philosophical beliefs, ethnic or racial origin, health status, sex life or sexual orientation. rtc-18=Non-virtuous actions rtc-19=Stealing: referred to intellectual property or authorship, in online environments, means posting or reposting visual or copyrighted material, without the consent of the author, or at least without mentioning the author. rtc-20=Sexual misconduct: in an app where you can express affection and meet new people from the community, it means not respecting the other person’s consent or lack of it or having an insisting, pressuring attitude. rtc-21=Lying refers to publishing information which you know is not verified or cannot be double checked, thereby spreading rumors, presenting guesses and personal opinions as facts. rtc-22=Insulting, slandering, malevolence and speaking in vain refer to different forms of verbal violence, such as demeaning jokes, humiliating, dehumanizing and making a person or group of people scared, expressing hostility, accusing, undermining, verbal threatening, trivializing, silencing, blaming, name-calling. They include making false and damaging accusations about someone, criticizing or talking about someone without respect. rtc-23=Spamming, meaning sending multiple unsolicited messages to large numbers of recipients for the purpose of commercial advertising or non-commercial proselytizing. It also means simply repeatedly sending the same message to the same user(s), especially when they did not explicitly consent to it, or asked you not to do it. rtc-24=Sharing personal or sensitive data*: Sangha App is an app that focuses on the safety of the user’s data at every stage. We do not track online activity or share user data. We ask practitioners to do the same, to respect other people’s right to privacy and not to copy, use or share the personal and sensitive data they encounter in the app. It includes pictures showing the identity of people who did not consent to share it, in or out of the app.
